2008 Classic Coonawarra Reschke Cabernet

The 2008 of Reschke’s most awarded wine, the ‘Empyrean’ – a 100 per cent Coonawarra cabernet – is now available.

Available through Reschke’s online cellar door and Domaine Wine Shippers, this cabernet retails for $150 a bottle or $900 a six-pack - but it’s worth the price.

Reschke Empyrean is the flagship of the Reschke range. Vines are meticulously hand pruned to produce small thick-skinned berries that will showcase pure Coonawarra character.

In addition, this wine is only made from the best vintages; 2008 being a vintage that produced some impressive results for many wineries in Coonawarra.

The result – a complex wine, with classic Coonawarra cabernet characteristics and great length. Black current and dark chocolate flavours meet with savoury notes on the finish. The structure is firm and full-bodied, almost sweet in texture coming from time in the barrel. Lively and concentrated on the palate and certain to cellar well-beyond 2025.
