Taylors Seeks Senior Brand Manager International Markets

Taylors Wines, one of Australia’s leading, most awarded, family-owned wine companies, is seeking a highly skilled, entrepreneurial and enthusiastically obsessive individual to add to its Sydney-based marketing team.

Taylors’ esteemed winery and vineyard is located in South Australia’s beautiful Clare Valley, with its head office in the newly renovated Woolstores offices in Sydney. Since establishing its winery three generations ago, the Taylor family’s unique blend of ‘old world’ estate philosophy, ‘new world’ winemaking innovation and zealous attention to detail has seen Taylors Wines awarded more than 5,000 medals and trophies at prestigious wine shows the world over.

The successful candidate for the Senior Brand Manager International Markets position will join a group of passionate and highly successful marketers, recognised by B&T as Australia’s best marketing team in 2013/14. The role will focus on the brand development of Taylors and Wakefield Wines outside of Australia, as well as managing the execution of strategic and operational marketing programmes for both brands in global markets with a particular focus on the UK, Canada, USA, Europe and global travel retail.

With international markets a core source of business development, the candidate will work closely with Taylors’ international sales team and their agents in the above markets, taking a grassroots approach to identifying growth opportunities and executing efficiently and effectively.

In addition, the individual will have oversight of Taylors’ brand innovation process with our New Product Development Manager as a direct report. This is a crucial function at Taylors and covers both brand innovation (e.g new brands, products and product enhancements) as well as brand renovation (e.g packaging adjustment, new vintage and gifting). Application of this innovation function is across all markets, including Australia.

There is an inherent need for flexibility to be successful in this role, skilfully balancing the requirements of multiple markets and various projects, sharing in Taylors’ spirit of ‘one in, all in’. In a typical day, the Senior Brand Manager may lead a workshop with the Australian sales team, work on a strategic annual brand plan for the US, discuss customer submissions in the UK and finally host a wine tasting at the Sydney Seafood School.

If you love variety in your work day, are passionate about wine, experienced in international marketing and expansion, and want to work in a closely knit team of exceptional professionals, then this could be the job for you.

General requirements include tertiary marketing qualifications - masters-level preferred; a minimum of ten years marketing and management experience with five years liquor experience also preferred; and strong oral and written communication skills combined with an analytical mind.
