First Look: Annual Australian Beer Festival To Be Bigger Than Last Year

First details for this years annual Australian beer festival have been released with dates confirmed for 16-18 October 2015, the annual Australian Beer Festival will return to The Australian Heritage Hotel in The Rocks, Sydney.

In its 11th year, the festival will expect over 130 beers and ciders available, together with crowd favourites such as blind tastings, ‘Meet The Brewer’ sessions and live music.

With 30 stalls of local, regional and interstate brewers, this year is touted to be larger and even more responsive, exceeding last year’s already successful turnout from industry representatives and consumer attendees alike.

The event will line both Gloucester and Cumberland Streets, showcasing the best beers and ciders from both established and up-and-coming boutique brewers, as well as paired food stalls and a fresh oyster bar.

All brewers showcased at the festival will be encouraged to brew a limited edition specialty beer to be served throughout the weekend. To commend the efforts and in memory of pioneering craft brewer Geoff Scharer, the prestigious Geoff Scharer Best Overall Beer will crown the festival’s favourite brewer, along with seven more awards, including Best Cider.

Also returning is the annual Home Brew Championship, a craft-0ff competition designed to give amateur brewers a chance to showcase their home brewing skills.
