Negociants Australia and Samuel Smith & Son Announce Changes to Distribution Portfolios

Negociants Australia and Samuel Smith & Son have announced changes to their portfolios, effective 1st July 2016.

The first change sees Wirra Wirra moving their distribution from Negociants Australia to Samuel Smith & Son. After a successful 23-year partnership with Negociants, Wirra Wirra will be the first McLaren winery to be featured in the Samuel Smith & Son offering.

Paul Midolo, Director of Strategy and Trading stated, “We are very happy that our family business will continue to represent Wirra Wirra in the domestic marketplace and the Samuel Smith & Son team are excited to add this iconic McLaren Vale brand to their portfolio.”

Conversely, brand Smith & Hooper, currently represented by Samuel Smith & Son, will be moving to the Negociants Australia portfolio.

Barringwood Vineyard of Tasmania will also commence national distribution with Negociants Australia. General Manager of Negociants Australia, Ken Withers, commented that the addition will “add further depth and value to the Negociants Australia offering and align closely with our long term strategy.”

Further additions to the Negociants’ distribution portfolio include Dandelion Vineyards, Heirloom Vineyards and Sister’s Run.

After a 21-year partnership, Rymill Coonawarra will cease distribution partnership with Negociants Australia, effective 30th June 2016. The change comes due to an adjustment in Rymill Coonawarra’s market strategy. Withers stated, “It has been a great 21 years and a pleasure to grow and build the brand in all areas of the Australian wine trade. We wish Rymill the very best in their next distribution venture and look forward to seeing them out in the marketplace.”

All distribution commencements for both Negociants Australia and Samuel Smith & Son will be effective 1st of July 2016.
