Nominations Open: Young Liquor Retailer of the Year

Nominations for the 2016 Young Liquor Retailer of the Year Award are now open.

The award is run by the Australian Liquor Stores Association (ALSA) and recognises people aged under 30 who are pursuing a career and/or displaying excellence in their role in the liquor retail sector. Entrants are selected based on their experience, training, any previous awards they have received, achievements, future retail ambitions and their Business Improvement Plan. The Business Improvement Plan is a written submission from the entrant, showing how they would use their knowledge and expertise to improve a particular area of their business.

Entrants can either nominate themselves or be nominated by their employer; a judging panel will then select and interview finalists before announcing the winner on July 27. Nominations are free and close on May 20.

The winner will be recognised as the 2016 Young Retailer of the Year and will have the opportunity to take part in the ALSA International Retail Study Tour to Europe in March 2017. Last year’s winner, Krystal Hall from WA, got to visit and gain an insight into the retail landscape in Japan with the ALSA Study Tour.

Finalists may also have the opportunity to enter into the National Retailers Association (NRA) Young Retailer of the Year Awards for the following year, a national awards program with entrants from all forms of general retail environments.
