Gold Medalists of the 2015 NSW Wine Awards

Gold medals were presented to winners of the 2015 NSW Wine Awards on Monday.

Now in their 20^th year, this year the awards received a record number of entries, seeing a staggering 57 gold medals awarded.

President of the NSW Wine Industry Association and awards judge, Tom Ward said: “Of the 872 wines entered, 456 wines were awarded a bronze, silver or gold medal. This represents a 52 per cent success rate and really highlights the high quality of wines being produced throughout the state.”

By state, the Hunter Valley received 28 gold medals, followed by Hilltops with nine; Orange with eight; Canberra District, Central Ranges, Southern Highlands and Tumbarumba all with two; and Mudgee, Murray Darling (NSW), New England and Riverina with one.

Wines presented with a gold medal today will be among the 17 to receive the coveted NSW Wine Awards Trophies, as well as the ‘2015 Pier One Sydney Harbour NSW Wine of the Year’. Trophies will be presented at a NSW Wine Awards Presentation Lunch on Friday, 30 October.
