Coopers Brewery to Brew and Distribute Brooklyn Lager

Coopers Brewery has announced that it will begin brewing and distributing one of America’s favourite craft beers, Brooklyn Lager in Australia. Currently the beer is imported and managed by Palais Imports.

The news comes after an agreement was reached with the New York-based brewer and will see Coopers brew and keg Brooklyn Lager at its Regency Park location, while Premium Beverages will be responsible for the distribution of the beer, as well as a number of other brews from Brooklyn’s portfolio.

Coopers’ Managing Director, Dr. Tim Cooper said commenting on the new agreement: “While Brooklyn Lager has previously been sold in Australia, its distribution has been patchy. This agreement will overcome those problems and we believe the beer will quickly establish itself in the Australian market.

“Brooklyn Brewery is regarded as one of the leaders of the American craft brewing movement”, Dr. Cooper added. “Its flagship beer, Brooklyn Lager, is a high quality, all-malt beer which would fit well into the Coopers portfolio.”

While final contracts have not yet been signed, it is projected that the arrangement will come into effect from 1 August.
