Melbourne Food and Wine Legends Crowned

The 2015 Melbourne Food and Wine Legends were announced today at Melbourne’s Crown Casino and Entertainment Complex.

Melbourne Food and Wine Legends are part of Melbourne Food and Wine and HOSTPLUS’ industry ‘hall of fame’ program, which pays tribute to the leaders, groundbreakers and visionaries of Victoria’s food and wine industry.

The six inductees include Miranda Sharp – Founder of Melbourne Farmers’ Markets; Anne O’Donovan – independent publisher; Pat Carmody – Owner and winemaker, Craiglee Vineyard; John and Steve Lau – restaurateurs at The Supper Inn; John Downes – baker; and Fleur Studd – Co-Owner of Market Lane Coffee.

Fleur Studd also received this year’s HOSTPLUS Trailblazer Award.

To receive the HOSTPLUS Trailblazer Award the individual must be 40 years or younger and have made an outstanding contribution to the advancement of the Victorian food and wine industry. Fleur Studd was the first to import fresh, ethical coffee beans into Australia and is recognised today for changing the way drinkers’ look at their cup of coffee.
