Coldstream Hills and Toolangi Vineyards Host International Chardonnay and Pinot Masterclasses

In July, Coldstream Hills and Toolangi, two of the Yarra Valley’s most distinguished wineries will team up to host ChardonnayPinot15.

The event will invite guests to take part in international wine tastings and discussions, as well as an appreciation of the varieties the region is most famous for - chardonnay and pinot noir.

An expert judging panel, including James Halliday, Huon Hooke, Bob Campbell MW and Nick Stock will lead guests through two in-depth masterclasses - chardonnay on the Saturday and pinot noir on the Sunday.

In each, attendees will blind taste 21 wines, including the Yarra Valley’s finest examples of each variety, alongside selections from around the globe.

With 2015 marking the 30th and 15th anniversaries of Coldstream Hills and Toolangi respectively, a special dinner will be held on the Saturday. Guests will join the judging panel, together with Toolangi owners Garry and Julie Hounsell, and Coldstream Hills winemaker Andrew Fleming, for a celebratory meal comprised of three courses, matched to current wines from Coldstream Hills and Toolangi - with some surprise additions from the cellar.

Garry Hounsell, owner of Toolangi Vineyards said: “It’s not every day that you get to indulge in a selection of the finest expressions of chardonnay and pinot noir from Australia, France, New Zealand and the USA, whilst being tutored by a panel of esteemed wine critics. I can’t wait to be a part of it and to incorporate pinot in 2015”.

ChardonnayPinot15 follows from the success of the inaugural Chardonnay10 in 2010 and sell-out Chardonnay12 in 2012, both hosted by Toolangi.

Packages incorporating tickets to both masterclasses and the dinner, as well as individual tickets are now available. Details below.
