Bacardi Throws Support Behind Australia’s Nightlife

Bacardi has launched a new campaign that supports Australia’s nightlife and its key cultural influencers. Through a series of events in Brisbane, Sydney, and Melbourne and a three-part video series, the brand will challenge the issues the industry is currently facing by showcasing the positive side of Australia’s nightlife.

Between October and December this year, Bacardi will partner with some of Australia’s best nightlife entertainment to create three of the biggest parties in some of the nation’s top cities. Titled the House of Bacardi, these free parties will feature bands such as the Daydreams, GoodGod, Pelvis, and One Day. As well as providing entertainment, each band will also be given free range to create their own area within the venue that reflects the ‘house party of their dreams’.

“With the lockouts, police crackdowns and cranky neighbours, many of Australia’s foremost curators of nightlife have also become familiar with frustration, roadblocks, and a lack of support,” the brand said. “In the spirit of collaboration, Bacardi will spend the summer getting behind those party throwers and fans who are both carrying and changing the cultural fabric of our cities.”

The series will begin in Brisbane on Thursday, October 20 at The Foundry in Fortitude Valley. The event will host Bedlam Records, A Love Supreme, VICE and The Creases.

A Love Supreme’s Paulie said, “We’re chuffed to have Bacardi recognise and support our efforts to deliver quality parties to Brisbane. As promoters, it can really feel like we’re fighting a constant uphill battle against narrow-minded bureaucracy and nanny-state laws. To have a powerful brand like Bacardi behind us, not only providing a platform to deliver what we believe in but allowing us to do it the way we know works best, means a lot.”

Elliot of Sydney party collective Pelvis said, It’s great that Bacardi [is] showing support for Australia’s nightlife at such a trying time, throwing a party has never been more difficult and it’s a great relief to have a bit of support in trying to make them interesting places to be beyond just hosting a big international act.”

The House of Bacardi will arrive in Sydney on November 17 and Melbourne on December 1, and will be followed by a three-part video series that explores the state of Australian nightlife: “shining a light on what keeps the country’s key cultural curators going, and up at night,” Bacardi said.

“It’s great to get behind some of the best party throwers in each city, getting them to do what they do best and celebrate everything that’s positive about our nightlife,” Fraser Lockwood, Marketing Manager Bacardi added.
