Coopers Brewery Appoints New NT Sales Manager

Floyd O’Toole has been appointed as Coopers Brewery’s new Sales Manager for the Northern Territory. O’Toole will help support recent growth of the company’s beers in the state, which now represents around 2.4 per cent of Coopers’ total sales.

During the six months to December 31 2015, Coopers recorded an overall 3.6 per cent increase in NT sales, driven by a 20 per cent rise in sales of Coopers Mild 3.5% and 6.9 per cent in sales of packaged Coopers Original Pale Ale - the brewery’s biggest seller in the NT.

As a result, Mr. O’Toole has been relocated to Darwin, where the position will be based.

“The mid strength beer sector is growing particularly strongly in the NT and Mild Ale 3.5% is providing a good tasting alternative to other mid strength beers in the market,” Mr. O’Toole said.

“The strong backing it receives as a result of Coopers involvement in the V8 Supercars is also helping to get the product better known across the Territory.”

In addition to Coopers’ involvement with the V8 Supercar race at Darwin, the brewery also recently renewed its sponsorship of the Darwin Festival and is continuing to look for ways to up its activity in the NT community.

Coopers Sales and Marketing Director, Mr. Cam Pearce, said the Northern Territory provides good opportunities for the company.

“As the market matures, NT drinkers are increasingly looking for full flavour beers for which Coopers is renowned,” he said.

“The appointment of Floyd will help to raise the profile of Coopers in the NT.”
