The new Visitor Experience opened its doors over the weekend and is set to raise the bar of one of Queensland’s top ‘must-visit’ destinations.

BDC Chairman, Anthony Mortimer, said: “Bundaberg Rum is an Australian icon which now has the visitor experience to match its world class and award-winning rum. We’re proud to invite locals, Australians and rum lovers from around the world to visit the distillery and experience the rich history of Bundaberg Rum and the Bundaberg region, and to of course enjoy a rum with us while they’re there.

The Visitor Experience will offer two new experiences - The Bundaberg Rum Museum Experience and Blend Your Own Rum Experience - in addition to the popular Distillery tour. The upgraded centre also features an expanded retail experience and bar area where visitors can purchase exclusive and limited edition products only available from the distillery.

The Bundaberg Rum Museum Experience includes a self guided tour of the museum, which houses six 75,000 litre oak vats that have previously matured thousands of litres of Bundaberg rum.

During the Blend Your Own Rum Experience, visitors will have the opportunity to craft their own Bundaberg Rum blend from a selection of premium rums that have never been released to the general public before. Guests will be able to spend time with two expert rum blending guides, who will teach the group how to taste rum straight from the barrel.

The new Visitors Centre will also become the new home to the annual and famed spirit of Bundaberg Festival, beginning this year on October 15.
