Archie Rose Creates ‘Distiller’s Strength’ Gin

Archie Rose Distilling Co., located in Sydney, has released a Distiller’s Strength Gin - an overproof gin that joins the distiller’s core range.

Archie Rose Distiller’s Strength Gin is 52.4%ABV and packs 15 individually distilled botanicals to reflect the flavours of traditional Navy Strength gins. The botanicals include fresh pears from Orange, NSW, rose petals, elderflower, pronounced juniper and distilled honey direct from Archie Rose’s rooftop beehives!

Archie Rose founder, Will Edwards, said the idea to create this gin came about following its recent Tailored Spirits project, which gives members of the public the opportunity to create personalised spirits at the distillery. Edwards said this time around, the Archie Rose team wanted to create a gin that was unique to their own tastes.

“Our distillers trialled 45 iterations until we were happy with the final product, and the result is a distinguished, bolder gin, with a higher ABV that still retains the balance we always strive for,” Edwards said.

The process of distilling the botanicals individually allowed the distillers to extract more flavour from each. This process took Archie Rose a staggering four months, with each ingredient trialled using multiple distillation techniques.

Archie Rose Distiller’s Strength Gin is available from the distiller’s website and retails for $99.
