Craft Beer Home Delivery Service Launches in Australia

Australian craft beer home delivery service, Small Beer, launched last week with a number of independent craft breweries already on its profile. So far, the Adelaide-based company has signed Mismatch Brewing, Pirate Life, Smiling Samoyed, Hawkers and West City Brewing, and is hoping to stock La Sirene and Big Shed Brewing by month’s end.

Small Beer allows customers to either purchase specific beers or join a monthly subscription service to receive mixed six-packs or cases of Australian craft beer.

Founder, Evan Hayes, stated, “It’s focusing on Australian breweries that are a little bit quirky, crafty and niche to get their name out there and build distribution through a previously unavailable channel.”

“We’re trying to build up that level of trust to where people can say ‘if it’s on the Small Beer website’ then it must be good.”

Small Beer’s major draw is the ability to deliver fresh product.

“We’re not selling anything that we don’t have in stock, so it’ll be shipped within two days.” said Hayes.

At the moment the business’ focus is the Australian market, with expansion to Southeast Asia and China on the cards for the future.
